Polymer Testing Instruments is looking for a talented calibration technician to join its growing team in Fletcher, NC! This is a full-time role offering competitive pay and great benefits. 

Join a hands‑on technical role supporting precision instruments used in the rubber and plastics industry. As a Field Calibration Technician, you’ll service, calibrate, and repair a variety of lab and production equipment while working closely with customers and a supportive technical team.

Location: On-site at our office in Fletcher, NC and surrounding areas at various customer sites.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Calibrate, service, and troubleshoot instruments (rheometers, viscometers, tensile testers, and related equipment)

Perform work both in-house and at customer sites

Communicate clearly with customers throughout the process and provide status updates with technical support

Document calibration data and service reports

Maintain lab equipment and support occasional equipment sales

Basic Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting ability

Mechanical and electrical/electronic proficiency

Basic soldering skills (bonus)

Ability to travel frequently and occasionally on short notice

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word

Able to lift 50lbs

Able to climb, kneel, drive, and stand for long periods of time 

Good organizational and prioritization skills 

Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record 

Ability and willingness to travel to customers’ locations  

Nice to have:

At least two years of hands‑on technical work experience

Knowledge of principles, procedures, methods, and techniques in metrology gained through education or professional experience  

Knowledge and experience with Electrical, Physical, and/or Mechanical Calibration of equipment 

Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or higher in a technical field
